Common questions about payment & financing
Which buy-now-pay-later options do you accept?
At online checkout we offer Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay (also called Clearpay). The exact options shown depend on your cart total and what each provider can offer you — Klarna and Afterpay are typically a good fit for everyday batteries (split your purchase into 4 interest-free payments), while Affirm specializes in longer-term monthly financing for larger purchases like full golf-cart packs and LiFePO4 conversions.
Can I use Klarna or Apple Pay if I'm shopping in your store?
Yes. Just ask the team at the counter to send you a payment link by text or email. The link opens a secure Stripe-hosted checkout where you can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, Cash App Pay, Amazon Pay, a card, or your bank — whatever works for you.
Will Buy Now, Pay Later affect my credit?
It depends on the provider and the plan you choose. Klarna and Afterpay 'Pay in 4' plans typically use a soft credit check that doesn't affect your score. Longer-term Affirm or Klarna financing plans may run a soft or hard check depending on the amount. The provider will show you the exact terms — including any interest, fees, and credit-check details — before you confirm the purchase.
Are online payments secure?
Yes. All online payments — including in-store pay-by-text links — are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider. Kar-Life never sees, stores, or has access to your card number, bank account, or BNPL credentials.
Can my shop or fleet pay by ACH bank transfer?
Yes. ACH Direct Debit is available at online checkout and is a great fit for repeat shop or fleet customers buying multiple batteries. If you'd like to set up a recurring or invoiced relationship for your business, give us a call at (855) 303-BATT and we'll get you sorted.
What if my Buy-Now-Pay-Later application is declined?
Each BNPL provider makes its own approval decision based on factors they don't share with us. If one option doesn't work, you can typically try a different provider at checkout, use a card or digital wallet instead, or visit one of our stores and we'll help you find another way to pay. We accept cash, all major cards, and debit cards in store.
